Things to know

Getting it right.

Tip 01

Measure warm, not cold

Fingers shrink in cold weather and after exercise. Measure at room temperature, when your hands are at their normal size. Late afternoon is best.

Tip 02

Account for knuckle size

If your knuckle is significantly larger than your finger base, size up so the ring slides over the knuckle. We can add internal sizing beads to keep it secure once on.

Tip 03

Wide bands fit tighter

A 6mm-wide band feels tighter than a 2mm band on the same finger. For bands over 4mm wide, consider going up a quarter size.

Tip 04

Don't trust an old ring

If you're measuring an existing ring she owns, make sure it's a recent one and one she actually wears on the intended finger. Old rings often don't fit any more.

For a secret proposal

Don't know her size, and can't ask?

This is the most common question we get. Three reliable approaches:

  • Borrow a ring she wears on the same finger, ideally while she sleeps. Trace the inner circle on paper.
  • Ask her mother, sister, or best friend. They almost certainly know.
  • Or, just guess. Most engagement rings come in around N (US 7), the median for women in Australia. Our free first resize covers any error.
