Choosing the right ring size is one of the most important steps in creating a forever piece. At Culet Jewellery, we want this to be easy, accurate and stress-free — so your custom ring fits beautifully from the day you slip it on.
Method A: Use a Ring You Already Own
If you have a ring that already fits the finger on which you’ll wear your new piece, this is the easiest way.
Place the ring flat on a ruler (mm scale) and measure the internal diameter (the part inside the band).
Compare that diameter to our size-chart below to find your match.
If the ring falls between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort.
Method B: Measure Your Finger Directly
No ring on hand? No problem — here’s how to get your size:
Cut a thin strip of paper or piece of string (~10 cm long).
Wrap it around the base of the finger you’ll wear the ring on — a comfortable fit (not too tight, not too loose).
Mark where the ends meet, then lay the strip along a ruler to measure in mm.
Use that measurement to find your size on the size chart.
Best time to measure: mid afternoon, when your hands are warm and relaxed.
Your ring should feel snug enough that it won’t spin or flop on your finger, but not so tight that it’s hard to get on over your knuckle. If your measurement is borderline between two sizes — go slightly larger.
Wide bands (over ~5 mm) often require half‐size up for comfort.

Fingers can differ significantly between your left and right hand.
Temperature fluctuations (warm vs cold) can cause your fingers to swell or shrink.
Your knuckle may be a different size than the base of the finger — measure the exact finger and finger position.
If you’ll wear the ring on a different finger than you usually do, measure that finger.
At Culet, we suggest measuring twice to be sure.
[Download our printable ring-size guide] and use it to find your size by placing a ring on the circle matching its internal diameter — or wrap the paper around your finger using the direct measurement method.
Important: Make sure “scaling = none” or “100% scale” is selected in your print settings, and check with a ruler that the scale bar on the sheet prints to size.
Since Culet Jewellery makes custom-made pieces only, each ring is crafted for your perfect size. If you require a size not listed on the product page, we are happy to order it for you — just ask.
Resizing may be possible in some designs, but for bespoke settings or rings with continuous diamonds around the band, major size changes may affect the design or may not be possible. We’ll always talk you through the sizing implications before production.
Measure your finger at the position you’ll wear the ring (and possibly your knuckle) to ensure a correct fit.
Measure when your body temperature is normal (mid afternoon is ideal).
If buying as a surprise and you’re unsure of the size: borrow one of their existing rings (same finger) or ask friends/family. Then use the ring measurement method.
If choosing a wide band or a comfort-fit style, consider going up half a size for added comfort.

Q: Can I change size after the ring is made?
A: In many cases yes — but resizing a bespoke piece can take additional time and may incur extra cost depending on the design. For rings with complex settings or stones all‐around, resizing may be limited.
Q: My fingers change size throughout the day — when should I measure?
A: Measure when your body is at rest, hands are at normal temperature and in a relaxed state. Avoid measuring when hot, cold or after exercise.
Q: What if I’m between sizes?
A: Choose the larger size. A very tight fit can cause discomfort and may be difficult to resize later without impacting the design.
Q: Are ring sizes the same worldwide?
A: No — different countries use different sizing systems. In Australia we use the letter system (e.g., L, M, N etc). Using our size chart will show your equivalent size.
